Changing a Captivair Mini / Max Filter
Changing the filters on a Purex Fume Extractor is a simple process providing the correct procedure is followed.

Always turn the unit off and disconnect the unit from the electricity supply.

Always wear the gloves and mask provided when changing filters.

Protective eyewear should also be worn.

Always use the correct form of manual handling as filters may be heavy.

Always dispose of used filters in accordance with local regulations.

Open the lid by unlatching the two or four (model dependant) plastic latches on the lid.

| Remove the handles by compressing each of the the wire handle ends toward the centerline of the case, while sliding the hooked ends out from the slots in the filter case. | ![]() |

The wire handle end will fit into an access hole in the perforated plate. Lift the perforated plate up and out of the filter case and set it aside. Do not discard the handles or the perforated plate.

| Carefully empty the old adsorbtion media into the plastic bag provided and dispose of. | ![]() |
| Place a new sheet of filter media in the bottom of the filter case. Ensure that the sheet is well seated and covers the entire bottom surface – edge to edge. | ![]() |

Now fill the filter case with new adsorbtion media. The amount of adsorption media in the bag has been measured at the factory and is specific for this application. However, it may appear that there is too much. Level out the media so that it is evenly distributed across the surface.

| Place a new sheet of pre-filter media over top the adsorption media. The edge of the media should be on top of the filter case rim. | ![]() |
| Place the perforated plate on top of the pre-filter media. | ![]() |
| Return the handles to their original position. | ![]() |
