Filter Removal or refill: Example used - Captivair Max

Open the lid by unlatching the two or four (model dependant) plastic latches on the lid.

Ensure that the locking mechanism is engaged to prevent the lid from accidentally closing while removing the filters.

Using appropriate manual handling techniques, slowly and carefully lift each filter case straight up and over the edge of the extraction unit.

The filters can now be replaced with new ones or refilled as described below.

Captivair Max open
Remove the handles by compressing each of the the wire handle ends toward the centerline of the case, while sliding the hooked ends out from the slots in the filter case. Remove carry handle

The wire handle end will fit into an access hole in the perforated plate. Lift the perforated plate up and out of the filter case and set it aside. Do not discard the handles or the perforated plate.

Slowly remove the top pre-filter sheet. Shake it over the filter case to remove any loose granules of adsorption media. The pre-filter sheet can be disposed of with regular solid waste.

Open the filter lid
Carefully empty the old adsorbtion media into the plastic bag provided and dispose of. Empty the filter
Place a new sheet of filter media in the bottom of the filter case. Ensure that the sheet is well seated and covers the entire bottom surface – edge to edge. Old pre filter sheet

Now fill the filter case with new adsorbtion media.

The amount of adsorption media in the bag has been measured at the factory and is specific for this application. However, it may appear that there is too much. Level out the media so that it is evenly distributed across the surface.

Gently lift and tap the filter on the resting surface until the adsorption media is allowed to settle and is below the inside rim of the filter case.

Refill the filter
Place a new sheet of pre-filter media over top the adsorption media. The edge of the media should be on top of the filter case rim. Relpace the barrier layer
Place the perforated plate on top of the pre-filter media. Open the filter lid
Return the handles to their original position. Remove carry handle
Used filters should be disposed of in accordance with local authority regulations. The company and its agents disclaim all liability and responsibility for any harm, damage, contamination or injury caused by inappropriate handling or use of filters or unlawful disposal.
