Changing a Pre-filter Pad

Changing the filters on a Purex Fume Extractor is a simple process providing the correct procedure is followed.

WARNING: Before Changing Filters...

  • Always turn the unit off and disconnect the unit from the electricity supply.
  • Always wear the gloves and mask provided when changing filters.
  • Protective eyewear should also be worn.
  • Always use the correct form of manual handling as filters may be heavy.
  • Always dispose of used filters in accordance with local regulations.
 

Pre-filter Pad Removal: Example used - Purex 400

Turn the top door lock 180 degrees counter clockwise.

Unlock the door of the fume extractor
Turn the filter locking handle 180 degrees clockwise, the filter will drop down in the cradle. Unlock the filter
Gradually pull the filter by a short distance out of the machine but do not let it tip forward. Pull the filter out of the fume extractor

Remove the filter from the machine.

Important:

  • Always use the correct form of manual handling as filters may be heavy.
  • More than one person may be required.
  • Do not lift the filter by using the handle on the front.

The pad is situated in a recess underneath the main filter. To remove the pad, first remove the main filter and turn it over. Remove the pad and replace it with a new one. Make sure the harder, smoother side of the pad is facing the main filter. Removing the pad filter

Place the used filter in the bag provided and tie the top using the tie wrap provided.

To fit a new filter use the procedure above in reverse.
