Is my electricity supply suitable and do I need an RCD?

Prior to connecting the power supply, ensure that the voltage, frequency and power requirements are correct as shown on the label attached to the cabinet rear.
Guidelines:
- Purex recommend the use of a dedicated supply to their single phase units.
- In the case of single phase equipment a 13A fused spur is recommended.
- All units should be protected by a 16A Type C circuit breaker in the customer’s circuit.
- Purex International due not recommend the use of RCDs but where their use is mandatory, single phase units require a 300mA RCD type A and 3 phase units require a 300mA RCD Type B.
I cannot increase the flow of my 400i higher than 94 m3/hr, please can you confirm how to increase this?

Looking at the photos that you have supplied, it indicates that the filters are blocked. The easiest way to test for this is to:
- remove all filters and shut the filter door (may require turning the filter locking bar to allow the door to close correctly)
- run the machine and see if the error goes away
- if it does then put the filters back into the extractor one at a time and run the extractor in each case
- the error will reappear with the blocked filter.
It is also worth noting that you have a high run target speed set this should be reduced prior to testing and afterwards set to the minimum level required to extract the fume.
If the filters are more than one year old they should be replaced as a matter of course.
How do I change the flow rate? I am pressing the buttons and nothing is happening. Do I need a password?

Hi, you don’t actually need a password to alter the flow rate – all you need to do is press the up and down arrows together and then when the buttons are flashing use the up and down arrows to alter the flow rate.
I have an interfacing cable on my machine for remote start and alarm warnings. One end of the cable has four wires, can you tell me which wire does what please?

The wire colours for the no plug fitted cable are as follows:
- Yellow and green wires = remote start stop – volt free contacts required to close these wires to start (+12VDC signal)
- Red and blue wires = alarm signal – output via a set of volt free contacts inside Purex extractor
I hope this helps.
We had a Purex Unit recently installed with a Rofin Multiscan VS. What is the wiring information on the 8 way interface socket at the back of the unit as we need to interface with the laser?
