LEV Installation Services
HSE guidance regarding commissioning has recently changed, meaning all LEV systems must now be tested and commissioned before use. Choose Purex for your comprehensive installation service, and our certified engineers will ensure your LEV system is integrated seamlessly and performing optimally.
LEV Installation Process
1. Install
Prior to installation, we will be in touch to ensure you have sufficient power supplies and safe access points for your new system. On the day of your install, our engineers will assemble your LEV system, checking each component, ready for commissioning.
2. Test
To commission your LEV system, our engineers will perform a series of tests that will assess the machines:
- Technical performance
- Effectiveness
- Qualitative results
Some examples of the specific tests our engineers will perform include air sampling, measuring airflow and checking filter efficiency. If you want to learn more about LEV testing, visit our LEV Test page.
3. Commissioning Report
Once your system has been assessed, you will receive a commissioning report confirming your machine adheres to the system design specifications and is operating as intended. It will also outline the tests performed, the results of each assessment and maintenance guidance following the installation.
4. LEV Logbook
Finally, you will receive an LEV logbook, a mandatory requirement for all LEV systems. This logbook serves as a record-keeping tool, detailing schedules for servicing and maintenance, as well as any services conducted, parts replaced, and repairs made to your LEV system.
HSE Compliance
With all LEV systems, it’s crucial that you comply with the latest HSE guidelines - failure to do so can result in financial penalties or even legal action. Below, we’ve included some key considerations to bear in mind when installing an LEV system.
Commissioning
HSE guidance regarding commissioning has recently changed. All LEV systems must now be tested and commissioned prior to being used – including when installing a new system. Visit the HSE website to stay up to date on the latest commissioning legislation.
COSHH Regulation 9
With any LEV system, it’s crucial that you comply with COSHH Regulation 9, which mandates LEV testing at least once every 14 months to maintain peak performance and safety measures. For ease and efficiency, we recommend scheduling your LEV test once you’ve received your commission report. However, we also offer frequent servicing to improve the efficiency and longevity of your system between your annual tests.
Your LEV LogBook
Once our qualified engineers have installed your LEV system, you will receive an LEV logbook. All LEV systems are required to keep a logbook that includes:
- Schedules for servicing and maintenance
- Records of any services, replacements, and repairs made to your LEV system
If you have any questions about your LEV system, logbook, or our services, please contact our team. We also have a technical helpline available, so we can offer support wherever you are in your fume extraction journey.
