How Purex is Committed to a Greener Future

With a focus on eco-friendly solutions, we have made significant strides in recent months, and we’re excited to share our journey towards sustainability.

Sustainable Product Design

One of our most impactful changes has been the redesign of our pre-filters. By changing the inserts to more eco-friendly alternatives, we have successfully saved approximately 20,000 pieces of plastic, this is 424 kg per year less of single-use plastic! This change not only reduces our reliance on single-use plastics but also contributes to the health of our planet.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our products to our packaging. We have replaced plastic tape with paper tape, making our packaging more environmentally friendly. This has reduced out single use plastic by 250KG per year. Furthermore, our foam packaging inserts are now recyclable and crafted from 60% recyclable materials, ensuring that we do our part in reducing waste and promoting recycling.

Operational Changes for a Sustainable Future

At Purex, we understand that sustainability is not just about the products we offer; it's also about how we operate. Our action plan to reduce our carbon footprint includes consolidating our business locations. By bringing our factories and distribution centres closer together, we significantly reduce the energy required to transport parts and products.

Additionally, we are proud to increase the number of products made in-house, which further decreases our carbon footprint. This shift not only enhances our sustainability efforts but also allows us to maintain greater control over quality and efficiency.

Going Green in the Office

Sustainability at Purex also includes our operational practices. We have invested in new printers that consume less paper and only print in black and white, reducing our paper usage and promoting eco-friendly practices in the workplace.

Single use plastic

We have removed the single use plastic packaging that was used in our labyrinth pre-filters, this has saved over 14, 000 square metres of single use plastic annually. Enough to cover 2 football fields.
